Go Daddy Offers College Scholarship for Tech-Driven Students

Go Daddy recently announced its second annual .ME Scholarship Program that will give out 10,000 dollars to ten outstanding students to help pay for college tuition costs.

Go Daddy is the world’s largest provider of Web hosting, domain name registrations, and new SSL Certificates. The company hopes that the scholarship will encourage students to continue in their educational endeavors, despite the difficult economy. They see it as benefiting both Go Daddy and students.

“Go Daddy is stepping up to support the future of the technology industry,” said Go Daddy CEO Warren Adelman. “By investing in these tech-driven students, we are investing in the future of Go Daddy. These scholarship recipients may well be our future employees … the next generation of Go Daddy technologists.”

To apply for the Go Daddy .ME Scholarship, applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in fall 2012, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and have scored higher than 1000 on the SAT or 21+ on the ACT. Applicants also need to submit two letters of recommendation and write a 500-word essay how the Internet has influenced their intellectual, entrepreneurial, artistic, or athletic goals. Students can apply online at www.GoDaddy.com/MEscholarship and winners of the scholarship will be announced at the end of April.
